Now we learn that the Leader of East Devon District Council, Conservative Councillor Ian Thomas, who is on the ballot paper in Trinity Ward as a Conservative, has resigned from the party.
This is a most incredible state of affairs with just a week to go to polling day and after many voters will have cast their postal vote.
If the leading local Conservative politician jumps ship, particularly so close to the election, it suggests that all isn’t well within the local Conservative party.
If Ian Thomas is unhappy with the Conservative party why should local voters cast their votes for their candidates?
At least with the Independent candidates, you can see who they are and what they want to achieve if elected. So when voting please think – local issues, local voice.
